Got a great idea?
Do you have a great idea that can help BDP fulfil our five year strategy? The Innovation Fund can help get it off the ground!
We're looking for pilot programs, new services, new initiatives, and any big or small ideas that can support BDP's mission and identity – especially from our frontline staff.
Open to BDP employees only

What is the Innovation Fund?
The BDP Innovation Fund is a pot of money that has been earmarked for innovative new projects that advance our five year strategy. The core idea is for us to be able to develop our services more quickly and independently. It's also a way to strengthen BDP's identity, and to have more of that identity defined by our frontline staff.
Ideas will come from applications made by BDP staff members — the fund is only open to people employed by BDP. Frontline workers are the people most in touch with the challenges arising in our community, city, and charity. The fund will empower your fast, creative, grassroots solutions.
Too many good ideas are either lost in committee, or underfunded and swallowed up by existing responsibilities. The extra resources will support innovative projects from staff – without then expecting you to deliver them on top of your existing caseload and responsibilities. The process will give you more time (and, obviously, money) to develop new ideas sustainably and successfully.
If any of it's a little daunting, then email Charlie Harris at charlie.harris@bdp.org.uk. You can get in touch to workshop applications, develop ideas, suggest new admin processes for the fund, or clear up any questions you might have.
The fund supports projects that align with BDP's five year strategy, which has four key elements:
- 1To lead innovation, research, & sector development
- 2To grow sustainably
- 3To influence change and challenge stigma
- 4To be a great organisation to work for
The application process has scoring criteria that will assess ideas against these four key areas. If you want help shaping an idea, or workshopping how it might correspond to any of these key points, then email Charlie to talk it through.
